Forklift Rental in McKinney, TX

A forklift rental is the practical way to move pallets, bundled material, and freight that should not be lifted by hand. AMD Trailer Rental brings the machine to the address you give us, leaves it for the day or the week you reserved, and picks it up when the work is finished. There is no deposit. Delivery and pickup are free when the stop is inside 15 miles of our yard.

Because the yard is here in town, a lot of local jobs are a short trip. That does not mean every address is automatic. Tell us the street address first. We check it against the 15-mile delivery area before we promise a time. If the pin sits outside that radius, we say so on the call.

What the machine is for

What the machine is for

Use it to take pallets off a trailer, set them where the crew will actually work, and load the trailer again when the day is over. A warehouse restack, a short commercial build, a stone or mulch drop, and an event load-in all follow that same pattern. The forklift cuts the manual lifting. It is not a crane, and it is not meant to travel down the road with a load on the forks.

It also pairs with a trailer from the same yard. If you are already renting a trailer for a local haul, the forklift is how the heavy pieces get on and off. If you only need the lift, you do not have to rent a trailer to get it. Specs and photos of the unit we send are on the forklift listing.

Say what you are lifting before we roll. A pallet of pavers, a crate of equipment, and a mixed trailer of freight are different jobs. We would rather change the plan on the phone than arrive and find the load is outside what this unit should pick up. Do not assume every pallet on a job is inside the machine’s range just because it fit on a truck.

How a delivery day goes

Start with a call or text to (469) 972-8824. We need the street address, what you are lifting, and the day you want the machine there. If the date is tight, say that too. Same-day depends on whether the forklift is already booked.

On delivery we place the forklift where you can reach the load without blocking the only way in and out. Tell us about gates, overhead lines, soft ground, and whether a delivery truck can turn around. A residential driveway and a wide commercial lot are not the same stop. If the first spot you picked will not work, we would rather hear that before the truck is in the driveway.

You keep the forklift for the reserved day or week. A day fits a single unload. A week fits a job that will keep receiving material. When you are finished, we come back for it. This rental is delivered and picked up. It is not a self-pickup from the trailer yard. Call as soon as you know you need another day. An extension only works if nobody else already has that machine next.

What to have ready

What to have ready

Have someone on site who can point to the drop spot and who knows how the load is stacked. We do not guess which pallet can sit in the sun and which one has to stay under cover. If the ground is wet or freshly graded, say so. Forklifts need a surface that will hold them while they turn with a load.

Clear a path from the street to the work area that is wide enough for the machine and for the trailer you are loading. Cars parked in that path are the usual reason a delivery takes longer than the window we quoted. If a superintendent or a homeowner has to approve where equipment sits, get that answer before we roll.

Ask us who is expected to operate the forklift and what the job needs it to lift. If you are pairing the lift with a material delivery or a dumpster drop-off, tell us so the timing lines up. Those are separate bookings. The forklift does not replace either one, and neither one includes the forklift unless we scheduled it.

The 15-mile delivery area

Free delivery and pickup apply inside 15 miles of the yard at 5168 Baxter Well Rd. Local addresses are common stops, and we still confirm each one. A job on the far edge of that circle is not the same trip as a job a few minutes from the yard. The phone call is where that gets settled, along with the rate and whether the date is open.

Trailer pickup and return stay at that yard, open 24/7. The forklift follows a different path: we deliver it to the job and we pick it up. Do not plan to tow the forklift yourself or to meet us at the yard for a handoff unless we agreed to that on the phone. Yard details are on the McKinney location page.

Keep the path you cleared on delivery day open until we return. If the crew moves the machine, leave it somewhere the pickup truck can reach without crossing a lawn or a fresh pour. Tell us if the job ran long and the forklift is no longer beside the original drop spot.

Use it for the loads we talked about. If a heavier or awkward piece shows up that was not part of the plan, call before anyone tries to pick it up. A forklift that is right for pallets can still be the wrong tool for a long, flexible, or poorly balanced load.

Fuel and the condition of the machine are part of the rental conversation when you book. If something feels off after delivery, call us the same day. Waiting until pickup makes a small issue harder to sort out, and it can leave the next customer without a machine.

When the reserved time is over, have the area clear enough for us to load the forklift. A blocked driveway at pickup costs the same kind of time as a blocked driveway at delivery. If you finished early, a call lets us try to pick it up sooner. We cannot promise an early pickup if the truck is already on another stop.

Questions before you book

Do you deliver a forklift locally?

Yes, when the address is inside the free 15-mile delivery area. We confirm the pin before we set a time. Delivery is part of this rental. You do not pick the forklift up yourself.

Is there a deposit?

No. This forklift rental does not require a deposit. The rate and the rental length are confirmed when you reserve.

Can I keep it more than one day?

Yes. Day and week rentals are both normal. A longer job should be booked as the length you actually need, not as a one-day rental you hope to stretch. Call early if the work runs over.

Can I pick the forklift up at the yard?

No. We deliver it and we pick it up. The yard is where trailer customers collect trailers. The forklift goes to the job.

What should I tell you when I call?

The street address, what you are lifting, the day you need the machine, and whether you also need a trailer. Gates, soft ground, and a tight turnaround are worth mentioning on that first call.

When the date and the address check out, reserve the rental or call/text (469) 972-8824. We will confirm the stop, the length, and when the forklift will arrive.
